In this example, we will demonstrate adding a basic page on your website by using the admin menu.
Hover over the header in the admin menu that reads “Content”, similar to the example below.
Then move the mouse cursor over the sub menu text that reads “Add content” and then again move the mouse over the text that reads “Basic page” and click once on that menu item. It will look similar to the example below.
This will open a page that will allow you to fill in all the details that is needed to create your page.
For the purpose of this example, we will create a page with a title that reads “How to create a basic page”.
Fill in the input on the form with the label “Title”, similar to the example below.
Thereafter, fill in the next input field with the label “Body”, similar to the example below.
You will see that the editor looks similar to a standard text editor with familiar tools that you can use, such as alignment (left, middle, right) for aligning text or images.
This input type is called a WYSIWYG editor, short for “What you see is what you get”. Feel free to use the tools you are familiar with, however, this is not necessary to create the page.
When you are done, click on the button at the bottom of the page that reads “Save”, to save the page.
This will create the page and take you to your new page. It will look similar to the example below.
If you need to edit your page, you can click on the text that reads “Edit” and it will take you back to the previous screen, with all your saved information already filled in. Once done, click save again to save any changes that you made.
